Socks do not last

I purchased a set of boxer briefs and a 5 pack of socks for my son. We love the briefs so far but unfortunately the socks didn’t last for more than 4 months. After wearing a pair for a day my son had holes in the heels. He was outside on the driveway but that shouldn't matter as he wears socks outside a lot, and this has never happened. We bought these in September 23’ and by January 24’, less than 4 months later, 4 of the 5 pairs have holes. I called customer service only to have the owner unapologetically ask me to send photos and he would send me new ones. He repeatedly said they have sold thousands of socks and never had a complaint like this. As if I was exaggerating or making it up. It's interesting that there are only 5 reviews and all are 5 stars. I explained thoroughly in the email with detailed photos that we have socks from Target, Old Navy and Gap that he wears them multiple times a month and some have been passed down to his little brother. These have lasted years. I didn't get a response, I had to follow up. When I did, the response was that the socks looked like they had gotten more wear and tear than usual but as a gesture of goodwill they'd send me ONE complimentary pair. Upon another follow up, I had an honest conversation with the owner who spoke over me many times. He explained to me that the socks are not meant to be worn outside on a driveway. They are made of cotton, not synthetic fabrics which will last longer. I understood but said, then you should make that a very bold point to customers. The website does describe them as durable though. Although I know cotton is not as durable as the synthetic blends that other companies offer, I was not expecting them to rip that quickly. Not to mention he wore them ONCE on the driveway and never had worn them before or since and they ripped in the heels. The other 3 pairs were worn with shoes or inside and still got holes. Even if your child has special needs, sensory issues or another reason they need comfortable socks and underwear and tag less options—don’t they still need socks that last more than a month? This was not a good customer service experience with a small company like this. I am very disappointed that I was not heard, and this was not fixed-other than offering a new pair. I paid $7.20 a pair and they lasted less than 4 months. I will not buy from this company again. If you do buy, get the underwear as they have worked out better.
