Boys: Briefs to Boxers

Big Boy Underwear

All boys want to be big boys! Toilet training is a big milestone and the incentive to leave diapers behind is a major one for most little boys. Their first underwear is usually some form of white cotton briefs, often with a superhero theme. These may seem cool to the pre-school set, but not for long. They soon decide these underpants are childish, but ditching the characters in favor of plain white briefs is no better - Tighty Whiteys are definitely not cool. In case there's any confusion, please see how they look on Captain Underpants.

Boys Briefs, Boxers, and Boxer Briefs

With Lucky & Me briefs, boxer briefs, and boxers, boys can graduate from superhero underwear to underwear that is similar to what their older brothers and fathers wear - yet still colorful and fun. The fabric is a stretch blend of cotton, modal, and spandex, which provides comfort and flexibility while retaining its shape wash after wash.

The Lucas Brief has a clean, classic shape which is accented by the Lucky & Me elastic. Many boys think that boxers are even more grown up than briefs, so they will really be happy with the Ryan Boxer, which has a functional fly with hidden button. Still others prefer boxer briefs. One boy who loves Lucky & Me underwear is Cassius– he looks adorable in boxer briefs. I interviewed his mom, Genna, who is lucky enough (or smart enough!!) to live in Hawaii.

Genna says that the first thing she looks for when buying underwear is price. Cassius is 4, so he’s past the accident stage, but price is still a major consideration for that reason. She also looks for design and style because even at 4, boys can be picky about what they wear! And if he won’t wear it, then, “It doesn’t matter how cheap it was!”

Genna loves the “adult-like” style of Lucky & Me briefs and boxers. “The colors are fun and childlike, but the cuts and fit of the underwear make my son feel like he is more grown-up, and all kids want to be older than they are.”

Cassius loves wearing Big Boy underwear – especially the boxer style. He identifies these with being more grown-up and therefore “cooler.”

Genna concludes: “I love the underwear, but not as much as my son does! I can’t wait to buy more for him. They are so adorable on.”

Big boys love Lucky & Me underwear for all their fun activities!
