Can you believe it is already time for back-to-school planning and shopping? Every year my family has a reunion at Seneca Lake over the 4th of July holiday and once we return home, the hot, hazy days melt one into another. Before I know it, the calendar says August and I feel like I’m running out of time. Long, lazy days of lemonade stand sales, swimming at the local pool, and little girls setting up a “spa” on the porch with Orbeez footbaths give way to the first signs of fall. I saw a tree with leaves turning red today- and realized our lazy days are numbered – it is time to start thinking about getting ready for school!
According to the National Retail Federation, which studies our spending habits in great detail, the average family will spend more than $600 on back-to-school items. It is the second biggest spending period after the holiday season. And most families are like mine: price- and value-conscious. We are doing more and more online comparison shopping to find the best products at the right prices.
Our family looks for comfortable, colorful clothes for our little girl that move easily from one school activity to another. During a single school day our daughter transitions from reading lessons to messy art projects, slides into flexible poses in yoga class and then she is outside for recess. No matter what their schedule, all children need functional and fun undergarments that provide comfort all day long.
Lucky & Me underwear are the perfect complement to the outfit that takes your child from first bell to last. We love the lace-trimmed bike shorts under skirts for modesty on the jungle gym. The capri leggings provide warmth and flair under dresses and tops. And we are crazy about the camis and tanks– especially the Hearty Party tank for a pop of color under dresses and shirts. Take a look at the pink and teal Mia tank under this Justice top!
And even if your little ones are too small for school, they’ll want to be included in this ritual with their older siblings and friends. Please remember to stock up on Lucky & Me essentials as you plan back-to-school purchases for your little ones!
